THE JULY VOTERS’ MEETING has been scheduled for Sunday, July 31.

CONSTITUTION CHANGE The church council has proposed the following changes to our constitution:
Article VI, section C             The Church Council shall annually prepare a list of at least six Special Projects, for the convenience of members wishing to make designated contributions and memorials. The list shall be presented to the voters, preferably in the January meeting of the Voters’ Assembly, for their approval.  Items may be added to or removed from the Special Projects list by the Voters’ Assembly at any regular meeting.
Article VII, section D, 3      Donors of honorary gifts and undesignated memorials will be encouraged to designate their contribution to one of the Special Projects (see Article VI, section C), to another suitable charitable purpose, or to support the ongoing mission of the church.  The Financial Secretary shall make a formal record of the memorial or honorary gift, and shall extend all efforts to ascertain the donor’s intentions for allocation.  If no designation is made within 60 days, the Financial Secretary shall classify the contribution as undesignated and assign it to the general operating funds of the congregation.

THRIVENT MATCHING FUNDS If you would like to donate money for tornado relief to either Immanuel or Peace Lutheran in Joplin, Thrivent will match $1.00 for each $3.00 raised.  You can give your donation through Good Shepherd, and we will see that it goes where you have designated it.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

TAPES OF THE SERVICE Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.  They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.  Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.

Where Are The Young Adults?

We see them in our neighborhoods, at the grocery store and in our offices; but we don’t see many of them beside us at church. I’m talking about young adults.

Join MISSION U School of Witnessing on Saturday, August 13th at 10 a.m. CDT for an interactive, hour-long webinar where we will explore how to connect with and witness to young adults.

Jessica Bordeleau, Young Adult Ministry Consultant to the LCMS Synodical Youth Ministry Office and Editor of LCMSyam.org , will clue us in on the “how-tos.”

Jessica will reveal who young adults are; why they are the way they are; what they believe and what they think about the church. Then she will share ways we can reach young adults from meeting them to worshipping beside them. You won’t want to miss this!

To join us, simply go to www.whatsmissionu.com/speakerseries.asp
on Saturday morning, August 13th. You will then be routed to the virtual meeting spot where you will join with other Christians continent-wide.

Become a Mighty Warrior on October 8th!

Join us Saturday, October 8th at 10 a.m. CDT for our monthly webinar — this time on becoming mighty warriors for God! Dr. Micah Parker will present humorous and innovative, Mighty Warriors: Seeking & Saving the Lost.

Parker, founder of Trustguy Ministries, will bring humor and grace as he shares how every Christian, even the most unlikely of candidates, has a place in God’s mission of seeking and saving the lost. You won’t want to miss it! You will walk away with tears of laughter and edification to witness.

To join us, simply go to www.whatsmissionu.com/speakerseries.asp on Saturday morning, October 8th.
