200th BIRTHDAY Today we remember the 200th birthday (Oct. 25) of C. F. W. Walther, a founding father and the first president of our Synod.  It was he who helped bring unity from early conflicts that plagued the new Lutheran colony to America and was instrumental in forming the new Synod that would become known as The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.  We sing one of the hymns Dr. Walther wrote in our service this morning.  Walther died May 7, 1887, in St. Louis.

CONGRATULATIONS to Amber H. who was blessed with the gift of a baby girl on Thursday morning, Oct.20.  Trinity Dawn weighed 6 lbs., 12 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long.  Her maternal grandmother is Kathy M., and her maternal great-grandparents are Bud & Ruby S.  We pray for continued blessings for both mother and child.
