Announcements — August 23, 2009

REMEMBER IN PRAYER:  Teachers & Students, as they return to their classrooms; Thelma M., in Freeman Hospital; Marty J., Ann L., and Chuck P., undergoing treatment; Bill S., receiving on-going care at St. Luke’s.

WE NEED YOUR HELP for the 9:00 am break for Laborers and volunteers.  If you can give an hour and a half of your time, Tuesday through Saturday, for a week in September, please notify the church office, 358-1325, or use the sign up sheet in the narthex.  You will need to organize the food donations and set up the snacks and drinks for the volunteers and Laborers.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

WE NEED YOUR HELP for Saturday lunches.  We have no one signed up to provide a light lunch for the Laborers and volunteers this coming Saturday, August 29th, and on September 5th and 26th.  Please see the sign up sheet in the narthex.
 
SPECIAL VOTERS’ MEETING  A special Voters’ Meeting has been set for after the late service on September 6th to nominate a person to be considered as the delegate from the Southwest Circuit for the LC-MS Convention in Houston in July of 2010.

90TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION  St. John’s Lutheran Church, Monett, has invited you to join them in the celebration service of their 90th anniversary this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.  Dinner will follow.  The Rev. SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED  We are in need of teachers for the fall Sunday School classes that will begin in September.  Please visit with Angela or Walter R. if you are interested in helping provide important spiritual guidance to our young folks through teaching a class or being available to substitute. 

NEW LOCKS  With the replacement of some of the outside doors comes new door locks.  If you have a church key now you will have to get a new one, because the old ones will no longer work.  Please contact Bradley Moll at for a key.
  
COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER OF THE OZARKS will be here next Sunday, August 30th.  They will be set up in the Youth Trailer as usual from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Make plans to give the gift of life.

SOFTBALL GAMES  The Co-Ed team plays this Monday at 8:30 pm and the Men’s team plays Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
 
LADIES RETREAT, SEPT. 19-20  Want to attend?  Please let Mary know by Sept. 1st  if you are interested.  Questions?  Pick up an information sheet at the Information Center in the narthex. 

TAPES OF THE SERVICE  Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 a.m. service each Sunday.  They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.  Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

BLOOD PRESSURE  After each service, at the table in the narthex, you have the opportunity to have your blood pressure taken.  You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.
