NARTHEX FURNITURE As you probably noticed, a new coffee table and end tables have been added in the narthex along with the previously purchased sofa.  Two new side chairs are on order, and should be here within three weeks.  We thank the congregation, who through donations and the fundraisers put on by the LWML, were able to purchase these items. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

FLU SHOTS FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN You can get flu shots here at GSLC next Sunday.  Teri K., with McCune Brooks Hospital, will be offering the vaccine for $18.00; there is no charge if you are on Medicare.  Everyone will need to show identification and those on Medicare will need to have their card.  Teri will be available in the nurse’s office to administer the shots during the Sunday School hour and after the late service.

VOTERS’ MEETING NEXT SUNDAY Make plans to attend the voters’ meeting next Sunday, Oct. 23, at 7:00 pm.  Important business will include the election of officers and approving the 2012 budget.  All confirmed members, age 18 and over, are eligible to be a part of the Voters’ Assembly.

MEN’S CAMPING RETREAT There are several men that are on the camping and fishing retreat this weekend.  We can’t wait to hear all the “fish stories”.

THE BOARD OF ELDERS will meet this Monday evening at 7:00.

CROSSLINES WORK DAY is this Friday, beginning at 8:00 am.

LADIES OF THE CONGREGATION You are all invited to attend the LWML Fall Zone Rally here at Good Shepherd on Saturday, Nov. 5.  Registration begins at 9:30 am, and the Rally will begin at 10:00 am.  We are the host society and invite you, our fellow Sisters in Christ, to join us.  The Shepherd’s Own and the Shepherd Strings will also take part in this day.  Pastor Gene Wyssmann, from Springfield, will be the guest speaker.  The Rally theme is We are all Christ’s Ambassadors.  Lunch will be served.

CROSSLINES CANNED GOODS Please remember to bring non-perishable items to donate to Crosslines.  You can place your donation in the round container in the narthex, or in the shopping basket in the entry way to the fellowship hall.  Any and all donations are greatly needed and very appreciated.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the narthex after each service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.  We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

TAPES OF THE SERVICE Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.  They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.  Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.
