REMEMBERING 9/11 We remember those who lost their lives ten years ago on September 11 because of the terrorist attacks, and we ask God to bless us as a nation.

WEDNESDAY FALL SCHEDULE BEGINS THIS WEEK
+ BAND PRACTICE will begin this week at 5:30 pm. Do you play an instrument? We’d love to have you join us. Karen M. is the band leader.
+ JR CONFIRMATION Confirmation Class for 7th & 8th graders will begin this week from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Each student will need to bring their own personal Bible. Luther’s Small Catechism and a notebook will be furnished by the congregation.
+ BIBLE STUDY You are welcome to join the Wednesday Bible Study group who will be exploring the book, I Believe but I Have Questions. Through it you will explore the process of spiritual growth and how to apply the Christian faith in everyday life. The cost of the book is $16.00.
+ MIDWEEK SCHOOL will begin this week at 6:30. The lessons will coordinate with the Sunday School lessons and will include an activity. They will keep the same schedule as the other classes that meet on Wednesdays.
+ THE SHEPHERD’S OWN men’s choir has resumed their weekly rehearsals at 6:30. If you enjoy praising the Lord in four-part harmony (and fellowshipping with a great group of guys), please come and join us.
+ YOUTH GROUP The Youth Group will meet at 6:30 pm.

LWML BAKE SALE The LWML will hold a bake sale on Sunday, Sept. 25. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of narthex furniture.
YOU’RE INVITED The Joplin Immanuel LWML is having a day retreat on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the home of Joan S. here in Carthage and have invited the ladies of our congregation to join them.
