COUCH POTATO LUNCH AND SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER Mark your calendar and make plans to dine here at church on Sunday, August 28, after the late service. The menu will include a large baked potato with allfixings, salad and dessert. All proceeds from the lunch and the silent auction will go towards the purchase of furniture (couch, chairs, etc.) for the narthex. Donations from couch potato lunch, helps buy couch…get it?
CROSSLINES CANNED GOODS Please don’t forget to bring non-perishable items to donate to Crosslines. You can place your donation in the round container in the narthex, or in the shopping basket in the entry way to the fellowship hall. Any donation is greatly needed and very appreciated.
DON WHARTON CONCERT On Friday, Aug. 26, at 7:00 pm, you can enjoy a free family concert with Don Wharton, Christian singer/songwriter. He will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 26th and Connecticut, Joplin.
CONSTITUTION CHANGES Because of a lack of a quorum at the Voters’ Meeting to change the constitution, a special voters’ meeting has been called for Sunday, August 28, after each service to vote on the proposed constitutional changes. The changes are posted on the table as you enter the sanctuary.
ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.
TAPES OF THE SERVICE Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex. Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.
PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the narthex after each service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.
