VBS STARTS TODAY: HERO HEADQUARTERS  Kids, don’t miss the exciting, challenging, super-fun VBS program starting this evening and going through Thursday.  We will start each session with a light lunch at 5:30 pm, and end at 8:00 p.m.  You will get to know Bible heroes and find out how you can be a hero for God, too.  Of course, there will also be crafts and games to enjoy.  See you this evening at HERO HEADQUARTERS!

HOUSING CONTINUED  We continue to provide a place for volunteers to sleep while they are helping with the tornado relief in Joplin.  Please make them feel welcome and also tell them “thank you”.

NARTHEX FURNITURE  Would you like to help with the purchase of some seating for the narthex?  Tentative plans are to have a sofa, loveseat, ottoman and side chairs.  The LWML has a committee that is checking to find the best product for the best price.  If you would like to help with this project, please make note that you want your donation to go towards narthex furniture.

THE JULY VOTERS’ MEETING has been scheduled for Sunday, July 31, beginning at 7:00 pm.

CONSTITUTION CHANGE  The church council has proposed the following changes to our constitution:
        Article VI, section C
The Church Council shall annually prepare a list of at least six Special Projects, for
the convenience of members wishing to make designated contributions and memorials.
The list shall be presented to the voters, preferably in the January meeting of the Voters’ Assembly, for their approval.  Items may be added to or removed from the Special
Projects list by the Voters’ Assembly at any regular meeting.
        Article VII, section D, 3
Donors of honorary gifts and undesignated memorials will be encouraged to
designate their contribution to one of the Special Projects (see Article VI, section C),
to another suitable charitable purpose, or to support the ongoing mission of the church.
The Financial Secretary shall make a formal record of the memorial or honorary gift,
and shall extend all efforts to ascertain the donor’s intentions for allocation.  If no des-
ignation is made within 60 days, the Financial Secretary shall classify the contribution
as undesignated and assign it to the general operating funds of the congregation.

THRIVENT MATCHING FUNDS  If you would like to donate money for tornado relief to either Immanuel or Peace Lutheran in Joplin, Thrivent will match $1.00 for each $3.00 raised.  You can give your donation through Good Shepherd, and we will see that it goes where you have designated it.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

TAPES OF THE SERVICE  Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.  They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.  Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.

PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.  We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the narthex after each service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings
